A rough break out of events is as follows:

Friday:
Check in/tech inspection
Fireworks at dark hosted by Hannibal City on the Hannibal river front.

Saturday:
Driver’s meeting for guided trails
Shotgun start for on site wheeling
Hog Roast Dinner & Raffle
Movies at the "Hannibal Drive In" aka "Outdoor Movie Theater"

Sunday:
Shotgun start for on site wheeling
Open trail riding on site for remainder of day

Pricing is VERY reasonable compared to some of the other weekend MWJT events but doesn't include much more than a piece of dirt to put up a tent and access to the trails. This event is designed to cater to the cheap SOB's like myself that like to/need to pinch a penny.

For those of you that prefer a bit more luxury, Hannibal has a number of quality hotels to chose from. Further, the Injun Joe's Campground is literally right next door and boasts full hook ups and a pool for the kiddos. We'll probably be spending the nights there.

All your food is BYO except for a legendary RORP hog roast Saturday night.

We'll soon be recruiting trail guides to come to Hannibal to learn the off-site trails. Tom has offered us access to the Hopewell trails that triple the size of the park providing a phenomenal opportunity to see some of the fantastic views that are rarely seen from the MO side of the river.

Finally, spread the word. This event is in no way shape or form Jeep exclusive. Let's get all the local, regional and national boards aware and get the hype going. I hope to see a lot of happy faces that weekend.

Signing up doesn't obligate you to attend but will give us an indication of attendance for planning purposes.

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem [:P]

aandrew, all you need is to send me a registration to attend, you don't even really need a 4x4, but, I think you'll get more out of the park if you bring one ;-).

ALL-
I'm ordering the shirts TOMORROW. Unless you've sent your registration form to me indicating you want a shirt, I won't be ordering one for you. At this point, I don't have enough cash to be able to order extras in the hopes of selling them on site the day of so please send your form if you want a shirt.

Is the high waters in Hannibal going to affect anything that weekend? I know they cancelled the fireworks in Alton because of the water. Whats going on up in Hannible?

I emailed Debbie to ask about how the flooding might affect things and here's her reply.

-The park is in great shape. It isn't much of a difference for us to drive through Louisiana/Bowling Green than for us to drive up around and through Hannibal.

They say that the levees at Hannibal are the best that there is all along the river. So, I can't imagine the fireworks being interupted.

The only thing that folks need to worry about at this time is that they more than likely won't be able to come across hwy 54 at the Mississippi bridge at Louisiana, MO. Hwy 61 is completely open as of now.

Since the event doesn't include trail riding that day, people getting there too early will only cause Debbie to have to be there sooner than necessary. Having said that, I think allowing folks to start showing up around 3 or so is reasonable. That way, there's time to check in, set up camp, and still get into town for an early dinner (if that's your thing) before the fireworks.

In short, lets say 3pm and if someone needs to be there sooner for any reason, please let me know and I'll make arrangement with Debbie.

Josh (Butch) has been awesome to work with
for this event. I can be at the park earlier on Friday if need be and Josh is aware of this.
I will be there by noon on Friday.

Expect a few "extras" such as a Make Your Own Ice cream Sundae treat.
The Outdoor Movie Theatre is something that we have
done before and it was a huge plus in the previous events.

As far as tech inspection on Saturday morning, that's no problem. There may not be a formal driver's meeting Saturday morning. Since we're not going to be using the off site trails, we don't NEED to have a meeting, but, I'm sure there'll be some sort of informal congregation around the shop in the morning. If you do end up coming thrugh Saturday morning, check it at the main office and someone there should know how to get a hold of myself, or one of the other organizers.

Have a safe trip down and I'll see you this weekend.
